The $13.5 million residential treatment clinic in Newcastle will deliver support for people experiencing mental illnesses such as anorexia with treatment costs covered by Medicare and government funding.

Newcastle student Dascha Harrison was only 12 when she was hospitalised to receive treatment for anorexia nervosa.
